Meraki

Hi! I am the owner and lead artist at Meraki Face & Body Art.  I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and regularly show my work on canvas at galleries and shows.  I discovered face painting by accident back in 2013 and it's opened a whole new world for me.

"Meraki is a modern Greek word that is often used to describe what happens when you leave a piece of yourself (your soul, creativity, or love) in your work. When you love doing something, anything, so much that you put something of yourself into."

That is what I do. I paint and put my love and soul into my work. I get to laugh with little kids, as they are transformed into tigers and let their imagination take flight. I have had the joy of creating superheroes, princesses, and scary zombies. Parents, families, friends, all become engaged in the process, watching how adding a dusting of glitter, or a few precise paint strokes, bring the design to a whole new and surprising level.

I am a member of the New Jersey Face and Body Guild.  I am insured and my equipment is kept to high hygienic standards. I only use FDA compliant face paint and cosmetic grade glitter.

Meraki Tribe

I have to say, I'm surrounded by incredibly talented artists. Sometimes I need an extra hand (or more), for those big events that we do.

We all have our own face paint businesses and help each other shine!

What do you get when you hire Meraki Face & Body Art for your event?

  • An insured, professional artist who will arrive 20-30 minutes before your event starts

  • Each artist brings their own kit of FDA compliant face paint, airbrush paint, and cosmetic grade glitter

  • Talent from years of practice

  • Passion, because we love what we do!

  • One more, very important thing: Your Safety

We have all been effected by Covid-19 in traumatic ways. I stopped painting in March2020, and didn't start again until May 2021, when I was fully vaccinated and had taken courses on covid protocol. As I paint, I take extra steps to sanitize my equipment and area.

Face painting is my joy and there is nothing quite like that first peek in a mirror! That's why it's vital to take all the steps necessary to make your event magical and safe. It takes a little longer, but worth it!
